Kyber does not support Cyrillic characters in mods.

Hello! I've encountered a problem that hasn't been mentioned yet, so I wanted to report it here.

I was trying to test the ability to translate mods for a game running in Kyber v2. My mod translation containing Cyrillic characters was created using FrostyEditor 1.0.6.3, and localization/wslocalization_english was edited (since Kyber runs the English version of the game). Upon launch, Kyber returns the error "Character not supported:" (this issue doesn't occur without a translation mod). As you can see in the attached screenshot (I used BF+ for testing), the numbers and punctuation marks remain visible, but the letters are not displayed. The issue is most likely Kyber-specific, as I haven't encountered this issue in FMM.

UPD: I’ve just received information that this issue affects not only Cyrillic but also special characters in other languages that aren't part of the standard English alphabet. It seems the problem is much more widespread than I initially thought.

I have noticed that the emdash is also “not supported” and does not render in game, but I assumed that was simply because it was missing in the star wars fonts.

Thank you, you’ve given me a lot to think about!

Please excuse any unnatural phrasing; my English is limited, so I am using a translator to help express my thoughts.

For context: as far as I know, Battlefront 2 officially allowed the Russian localization only in a limited number of regions. I believe there used to be a mod that enabled Russian text in the English version of the game (though I’m not sure if it handled font files specifically), but it is no longer available on Nexus. My game is set to Russian in the EA app, and with Kyber v1, my BF+ Russian localization worked perfectly by replacing English strings with Russian ones.

However, Kyber v2 now forces the game to launch in English, regardless of the language selected in the EA app. I’m not sure how it technically bypasses the EA app's settings, but this forced switch to English might be what’s breaking Cyrillic support in the game
