Host tab does not indicate a loading state

When you first boot up the launcher, the local mods list has not loaded yet. Clicking on a server in the server list shows a “loading local mods” widget. Clicking on the host tab while in this unloaded state shows no change in the UI other than changing the highlighted tab at the top. Clicking on this tab while loading should show a similar widget.
